What is the purpose of an EMS Fee?
The purpose of this fee is to create a sustainable funding source to assure well trained and well equipped EMT’s and Paramedics are available when the community needs us for emergency ambulance and rescue response. As a benefit of paying the mandatory fee, Ross/West View EMSA will write off any out-of-pocket expenses for residents and business owners should they need to use emergency ambulance services.

My property is vacant; do I still have to pay the EMS fee?
If the property has the ability to be occupied, then yes, the fee is due regardless if it is occupied or not. Only properties that are deemed uninhabitable are exempt from paying.

I received a bill as the owner, but I rent the property to tenants, what should I do with this bill?
It would be the responsibility of the landlord to collect and distribute the fee to their tenants as defined by the ordinance.
What happens if I do not pay my EMS fee bill?
If payment isn’t received by the due date, penalties are added, the owner would be responsible for 100% of their ambulance bill if they use the EMS service, and a lien shall be filed against the property.
